3 WAYS TO SHIP DIRECTLY FROM CHINA TO AMAZON FBA

LETTING THE SUPPLIER MANAGE YOUR SHIPMENT IS COMMON AMONG INEXPERIENCED AMAZON PRIVATE LABEL SELLERS. IT’S VERY SIMPLE AND ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TO TELL THE SUPPLIER THAT YOU WANT THEM TO SHIP THE CARGO AS CIF “PORT OF DESTINATION” OR DAP “YOUR FACILITY ADDRESS” AND THEY’LL DO THE REST. THE DOWNSIDE IS THAT YOU’LL PROBABLY END UP PAYING MORE THAN NEEDED. ADDITIONALLY, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO INSPECT YOUR ITEMS BEFORE DEPARTURE, WHICH CAN BE A COSTLY EXPERIENCE IF YOUR PRODUCTS ARE BROKEN. IN FACT, THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS FOR SAVING MONEY & TIME. HERE ARE THE 3 COMMON OPTIONS FOR SHIPPING YOUR PRODUCTS DIRECTLY FROM CHINA TO AMAZON FBA

1. DO IT ALL INTERNALLY, FOR FULL CONTROL

We have only seen big groups follow this strategy. They book space directly with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies and they manage Customs Declarations on both sides (the exporting and the importing countries). If you choose this option, you need to make your own order follow up, you need to check with the carriers yourself to receive the proper info that is crucial for you. If a problem occurs, you need to deal with it in order to avoid paying extra charges. Your time is the most valuable. When you work directly with a carrier, you cannot save that time, unless there’s a specialized department with professional crews in your company. Additionally you will not beenfit from the huge discounts that large volume shippers have with Amazon partnered carriers.

We don’t think this is a viable option for small and medium enterprises. This can be time consuming and expensive

2. WORK WITH A FREIGHT FORWARDER IN YOUR COUNTRY, FOR CONVENIENCE

This is what some importers do, and it is the most convenient option. So what happens is this: small and medium companies try to work with a freight forwarder of the right size, who care about their business. But most of the forwarders don’t always have their own office in China nor do they have China based partners. They will therefore offer a Turnkey Solution and work as consultants rather than freight forwarders.

This is not a cheap option, but it can save time compared to shipping alternative number 1.

3. WORK WITH A FREIGHT FORWARDER WITH CHINESE PARTNERS SPECIALIZED IN AMAZON's FBA PREP REQUIREMENTS

More and more importers are choosing this option. The advantage is speed and cost saving. The forwarder can keep close touch with your supplier, and keep you informed on everything. When challenges occur, your partner will solve that asap.

That’s what we are doing, and we’re good at it. Not only do we offer speed, but we also offer market leading rates. We have agents across China to handle inspection and prep services, before your products gets cleared and delivered directly from China to Amazon's warehouse.

NOTES

Whether you or your supplier manage the transportation, you should always source the logistics solution from a third party.

  • Hello, i am interested in shipping around 200 pieces of a waterproof pouch case for phones. The measurements for one are 4.7 × 8.8 × 1 inches and 6.4 ounces. The supplier that i want to buy from is from China and this will be my first transaction with them so i am not sure that they can comply to the requirements for being stored in an Amazon warehouse. What would be the cost for you guys to check them and ship them in the USA?

  • Hey, I was wondering if you guys could help me. It seems like my supplier excluded the import charges in their quote. Now they are telling me that the customs will take my goods unless I pay them a crazy amount. My supplier basically mislead me and now I’m stuck in a difficult spot. Is there anything you guys can do help me?

    Best regards,
